Although in some developed countries slight economic growth is observed and inflation has decreased marginally compared to 2025, in many developing countries crises such as debt, unemployment, high prices, poverty, and food insecurity continue. The economic gap between countries as well as within societies has increased, and factors such as political tensions, wars, and fluctuations in the energy market have played a fundamental role in intensifying this situation.

Today, the lives of working-class and salaried families are such that their monthly income barely covers the basic needs of life. The slight increase in wages in the face of the sharp rise in living costs has been practically ineffective. Costs such as housing rent, food, clothing, energy, and transportation consume a major portion of income. Many families are forced to eliminate parts of their basic needs, reduce consumption, and abandon welfare plans. Under such conditions, even having a stable job is no longer a guarantee of economic security.

According to reports from international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations, the destructive effects of wars in 2026 have not only increased but have also taken on more complex dimensions. Wars have directly and indirectly affected the lives of millions of people and have led to the expansion of poverty and humanitarian crises. Rising energy and food prices, disruptions in supply chains, and economic pressure on low-income groups are among the most important consequences of this situation. Alongside this, the psychological and social impacts of war are also deep and widespread. Anxiety, insecurity, depression, and deprivation from education “especially among children” have increased significantly. Wars are no longer limited to geographical borders, and their effects, through the global economy and migration, have spread across the entire world.

Under the current conditions, the people of Iran especially workers, toilers, and their families are facing serious economic and security pressures, unemployment, job insecurity, and reduced access to public services. A large portion of resources has been allocated to military expenses, and the already limited services such as education, healthcare, and social support have been further weakened or completely eliminated. Displacement, instability, livelihood difficulties, fear, terror, and anxiety have become the daily reality for many families.

These wars are the result of competition among powers over resources, influence, and economic interests and have nothing to do with improving the lives of people, including workers and the lower strata of society. In this situation, the people; working-class families, toilers, and lower-income groups are the main victims. Therefore, none of the sides in these wars should be supported; rather, they must be condemned, and emphasis should be placed consciously on shared human and class interests against war and inequality.

On this year’s International Workers’ Day, under such conditions, the necessity of strengthening solidarity among oppressed strata of society must be emphasized. Basic rights such as wages, job security, and access to essential needs must be defended. The expansion of war and violence must be opposed, and there must be a demand to end wars as soon as possible. Through increasing awareness and social cooperation, further fragmentation and vulnerability must be prevented. At the same time, it must be noted that under wartime conditions, collective activities face greater limitations and risks; therefore, any action must be carried out with consideration of individual and collective safety.

Only when workers, toilers, lower strata, and oppressed nationalities in society consciously and in solidarity struggle to achieve their common demands, create and strengthen their independent and sustainable organizations, and by expanding solidarity and collective organization apply their power toward fundamental change, will they be freed from all this oppression, injustice, and lack of rights.

The Abroad Organization of the Communist Party of Iran sincerely calls on all parties, organizations, labor unions, socialist, freedom-loving, equality-seeking, and justice-seeking individuals to, considering the critical conditions of society and shared historical responsibilities, turn this year’s International Workers’ Solidarity Day into a new starting point for expanding cooperation and practical coordination. It is hoped that, through collective thinking, convergence, and unity in action, we can advance more effective, broader, and more organized activities in defense of workers’ rights and the realization of freedom, equality, and social justice until reaching the desired society.

Long live the struggle of the working class in the path toward achieving a socialist society

Abroad Committee of the Communist Party of Iran

April 23, 2026

In advance, we congratulate May 1, International Workers’ Solidarity Day, to all workers, toilers, and…

[29
33,24,10,25,26,9

post-129","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-abroad-committee-of-the-communist-party-of-iran","tag-abroad-committee-of-the-communist-party-of-iran","tag-communist-party-of-iran","tag-cpi","tag-international-workers-day","tag-may-day","tag-statement
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477.png",1920,1080,false
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477-150x150.png",150,150,true
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477-300x169.png",300,169,true
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477-768x432.png",640,360,true
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477-1024x576.png",640,360,true],"1536x1536":["https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477-1536x864.png",1536,864,true],"2048x2048":["https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477.png",1920,1080,false
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477.png",80,45,false
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477.png",300,169,false
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477.png",1115,627,false
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477.png",800,450,false
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477-1024x576.png",1024,576,true
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477-540x340.png",540,340,true
https://cpiran.net/english/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1000112477.png",400,225,false
admin
Statements (Abroad Committee of CPI)
["GET
