The war of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic has now entered its thirteenth day. This war continues with intensity. Every day, more people lose their lives. Many lives are being destroyed. Infrastructure is being devastated. The victims of this war are people who have had no role in its beginning or in the anti-people objectives of either side. Neither the objective of the Islamic Republic, which seeks its own survival, has anything to do with the freedom of the people, nor do the objectives of the United States and Israel, which seek to contain the Islamic Republic, bear any relation to the liberation of the exploited and oppressed people of Iran. Meanwhile, the Kurdistan Region continues to come under drone and missile attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leaders of the Kurdistan Region have officially declared that they do not wish to be part of this war. They have announced their neutrality. Nevertheless, almost no day passes without missiles and drones being launched at different cities in the Kurdistan Region. The justification for these attacks is said to be the presence of American bases in the area. But as one example, how can the attack with a \u201cprecision missile\u201d on the public gathering hall \u201cSaad Abdullah\u201d in the city of Erbil be justified? In the city of Sulaymaniyah as well, people\u2019s residential homes have been targeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is true that some of the missiles and drones have been intercepted by air defense systems, but the very existence of these attacks, explosions, and the atmosphere of insecurity has disturbed the peace of the people. The greatest pressure is placed upon children, the elderly, and ordinary citizens. The leaders of the Kurdistan Region have also clearly stated that no military attack by political forces opposing the Islamic Republic is to be launched from this region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this, during the past 13 days, camps housing Kurdish families have repeatedly been targeted by missile and drone attacks, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries. This is a blatant assault on the lives and security of people who themselves have been victims of the repression of the Islamic Republic and who sought refuge in this region. We condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms, whether they have been carried out directly by the Islamic Republic or by its proxy forces such as the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attacking cities, people\u2019s homes, public gathering centers, and refugee camps is a clear crime and has no justification whatsoever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, we declare that we do not consider the Kurdistan Region to be the rear base of our armed struggle. We consider ourselves responsible for the security and well-being of the people of the Kurdistan Region. The people who have always welcomed us with open arms should not pay the price of a war that does not belong to them. The attacks on the Kurdistan Region must stop immediately. The security of the people of this region must be guaranteed. The lives of civilians must no longer be turned into playthings of war and the rivalry of powers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
