The Communist Party of Iran was founded on September 2, 1983.
Despite the ups and downs that have occurred in the struggle for its goals, after thirty years of persistent activity it continues to fight for the same objectives stated in the final statement of its founding congress:
The Communist Party of Iran fights for the same goal for which revolutionary communists of the world, from the Communist Manifesto to the present day, have resolutely struggled.
The Communist Party of Iran is a battalion of the global army of the working class, which has set as its aim and ideal the victory of the revolution and the establishment of a new socialist society.
The anti-communist barbarity of the bourgeoisie, which today is organized on a global scale, along with decades of the destructive performance of revisionism and its harmful effects on the labor and communist movement, confronts the communist party of our era with specific objective conditions. These conditions require that the communist party, from the very beginning, be prepared for the longest and bloodiest battles with the ferocious and organized bourgeoisie, train and prepare its ranks for struggle and sacrifice under the harshest conditions of repression and police and military suppression, and at all times remain a symbol and embodiment of communist purity and steadfastness in ideology and politics, never ceasing even for a moment from crushing bourgeois ideas, views, and policies within the working-class movement.
The message of its founding congress addressed to the workers of Iran stated: which of you still does not know that the path to our salvation from all this hardship and misery, from all this deprivation and lack of rights, is our unity and solidarity?
Which of you still does not know that we workers, without unity and without our own organized and independent power, even in the aftermath of the most mass uprisings and the harshest reckonings with oppressive and tyrannical rulers, will gain nothing more than what we have today? Without doubt, the secret of our victory is our unity and solidarity.
The Communist Party of Iran is born in the midst of struggle and battle. From revolutionary Kurdistan, where the Kurdistan Organization of the Communist Party of Iran (Komala) is the leader of a mass movement and the organizer of a revolutionary movement, to cities across Iran where communist activity must continue under the darkest conditions of repression and police terror, our party fights to organize the united and independent front of the working class of Iran.
Our party is the party of workers, the party of the poor and the deprived, who struggle for workers’ rule, the abolition of private property, and for socialism.
